The Susan B. Anthony greenback, a United States coin, was minted for a comparatively brief interval throughout two distinct collection. The preliminary manufacturing run occurred from 1979 to 1981. After a hiatus, mintage briefly resumed in 1999.
The choice to introduce this greenback coin was pushed by a necessity for a smaller, lighter different to the cumbersome Eisenhower greenback. Whereas supposed to be a handy denomination for transactions, the coin confronted public resistance on account of its similarity in dimension and coloration to the quarter, resulting in confusion and restricted circulation. The 1999 mintage was particularly undertaken to satisfy a scarcity of greenback cash brought on by delays within the manufacturing of the Sacagawea greenback.
